Stay Neighborly reflects Vrbo’s commitment to the benefits that short-term rentals provide homeowners, travelers, and the communities in which they are a part.

Vrbo is committed to educating our owners and travelers on a short-term rental’s responsibility to its community, and provide a communication portal to alert Vrbo to disruptive behavior.

What is Stay Neighborly, and how can I be a good neighbor?

We know you're committed to providing a great experience for travelers, but it's important not to forget about your community. We created a program called Stay Neighborly to help you nurture a strong relationship with those around you. Staying Neighborly means

  • Letting surrounding homes know you own or manage a vacation rental

  • Giving your neighbors a way to reach you in case of emergency

  • Knowing and following your local regulations and ordinances

  • Ensuring you have the correct licenses and tax reporting options. Check out Avalara MyLodge Tax for easy, stress-free tax compliance.

  • Setting up House Rules that inform your guest about local ordinances

  • Preventing house parties that will disturb your neighbors

Stay Neighborly Issue Form If you believe your neighbor’s property is listed on Vrbo and you have a concern regarding nuisance issues, we want to know.

Please use the link below to submit your concern. Our customer service team will review the submission. If the complaint matches a property on Vrbo, we will alert the owner to your concerns.
